Frontline - the enterprise email defense system

It is a well known fact that spam, viri, and malware cost us money every year by way of losses in productivity. Frontline is the first system of it's kind to protect enterprise users from their worst enemy - spam, viri, and malware. Composed almost entirely of opensource software, Frontline uses premiere industry tools to analyze, route, verify, and deliver mail, while keeping spam, viri, and malware at bay. The system is configurable and can be used either as guardian to you primary email system, delivering valid email to your internal system - Exchange servers, Domino server, or other UNIX servers. Small business can setup Fronline to utilize the database mail store, which has imap4 and pop3 daemons to serve mail to internal users.

Product features

Risky Content Analysis

Virus Scanning - Scan all incoming (or outgoing if you choose) email for possibly infectious files. Optionally report to the user and/or an admin that the file was compromised and disposed.

File Type Banning - Ban any file by type or extension. Reduce the number of malware opportunities present in your organization.

Legitimate Message Determination

Spam Scoring - Subjects each and every incoming email to a battery of almost 800 tests to determine if the message is spam or not. A score is applied to each email based on the results of these tests.

Challenge/Response - Send a confirmation email to each email sender that is not immediately recognized as a normal correspondent of the receiver.

Whitelist/Blacklist - Determines whether an email sender has unimpeded access to the recipient's email box or is blocked completely.

Email Keys - Assign a unique email key to your mailbox. If this key starts receiving spam, you may revoke it at any later time.

Limited Duration Email Addresses - Create email addresses with an inherent timeout. Email proceeds normally until the email expires. Once the email expires, the user has the option of challenging the sender, dropping the email, or storing it in a quarantine.

SPF ( Sender Policy Framework) - Validates whether emails are forgeries based on policies of the sending system.

Operational Features

Automatic Virus Signature Updates - The system automatically updates its virus signatures daily.

Extensive Configurability - Almost all configuration options are available at the systemwide level, the domain level, and the user level.

Multi-Domain Awareness - Multiple domains are easily handled by the system.

ASMTP (Authenticated SMTP) - Mobile users can send mail normally without any adverse affects by supplying credentials when sending the email.

Quarantine Management - The quarantine system is easily accessible with a webmail interface. Messages by be deleted or released to the mailbox. Senders can also be whitelisted or blacklist from this interface.

Webmail Interface - Allow users on the go to use a web browser to check their email.
